There are constant rumors and news of celebrities paying hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars for digital assets such as NFTs. Most of them have purchased some of the most successful NFTs at the early stages and if they still hold them today, some of them could be worth a fortune. Let's take a look at some celebrities and their NFT collections.

NFT Collections Favored By Celebrities

Marshmello

Famous DJ and music performer Marshmello is an NFT collector who owns different expensive NFT pieces in his collection. He has produced and sung many different songs that have become hits and amassed more than a billion views on YouTube.

Marshmello remained a secret NFT collector up until he made his CryptoPunk NFT his Twitter profile picture. Soon after, he added KaijuKing NFT to his collection as he paid 5.88 ETH for it, which at the time was around $56,000. He is also in possession of at least one Bored Ape NFT and many others. The most expensive NFT in his collection is considered to be CryptoPunk #8274 which was sold to him for $442,000.

Steve Aoki

On the topic of record producers, another name we have to mention is Steve Aoki. This music producer, DJ, and music programmer is known for his memorable live performances and many songs which have become hits. 

He joined the list of celebrity NFT collectors when he purchased his first NFT on December 14, 2021. His first purchase was an NFT from the CloneX collection for which he paid 19.95 ETH, which at the time was around $240,000. His NFT is CloneX #2004 from the collection of 20,000 NFTs. He is also another celebrity who owns Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, even owning multiple of them. In total, he owns over 200 NFTs with other notable inclusions being Doodies and VeeFriends NFTs. 

Aoki also believes that NFTs will revolutionize the music industry. He thinks that blockchain will allow musicians to take away power from music labels, and we are already seeing this in recent NFT music marketplace developments.

Lil Baby

Lil Baby rose to prominence in 2018 and today is one of the most famous rappers in the world. He currently boasts 30 million monthly Spotify listeners and 20 million Instagram followers. He is another celebrity NFT collector who just recently acquired Mutant Ape which he mutated from Bored Ape#129. He purchased the original Ape for 37.99 ETH, which was equivalent to around $170,000 at the time of the purchase. 

Lil Baby also holds other different NFTs. These NFTs include pieces from Doodle, Crypto Cannabis Club, Little Lemon Friends, and many others.

Justin Bieber

One of the most famous names on this list, Justin Bieber is a vivid NFT collector. He made noises around the NFT space when he purchased a Bored Apes Yacht Club NFT for 500 ETH and followed it up with a purchase of Alien Friens NFT right after.

There was some criticism thrown toward Bieber as NFT investors pointed out that he overpaid for the NFT by almost 5 times. They said that his Ape didn’t have any rare traits which give Bored Apes their value. On the other hand, the 2 ETH, he paid for Alien Frien NFT was met with much more support. As the floor price of Alien Friens went up to 3 ETH straight after Bieber's purchase.

Snoop Dogg

One of the most influential celebrities, Snoop Dog is another high-name NFT collector. Snoop is an avid believer in blockchain technology. He has invested in projects like The Sandbox, which provides virtual reality land plots for sale. 

Last year he announced that the famous Twitter collector by the alias Cozmo De’ Medici was actually him. He said that he wanted to separate his NFT business from his other activities.

His collection is something to admire. He owns 10 CryptoPunks which are worth around $4.3 million dollars and 9 Meebits worth around $1 million. In a recent music video Snoop released with fellow rapper Eminem, he used his Bored Apes Yacht Club NFT on the cover of the single.

Eminem

Following Snoop is another American rapper and one of the best-selling musicians in history, Eminem. Slim Shady is the proud owner of Bored Ape #9055 which he purchased for 123 ETH equivalent to $450,000 at the time. He also has other NFT holdings, such as 2 Lil Yachi Doodle X NFTs, Shaq Gives Back #4077 NFT, and SABC #2651 among others. 

He has been active in the NFT space for a long time and has even released his own bet-inspired NFT collection under the name SHADYCON which put a massive spotlight on NFTs when news about it got out. Also, as we mentioned before, he has recently released a music video where both he and Snoop use their own Bored Apes as characters in the music video.

Alexis Ohanian

Some of you might not recognize Alexis Ohanian by his name, but he is the man behind the world's most famous forum, Reddit. He is also the spouse of the world-famous tennis player Serena Williams.

In his collection, he holds 6 Cryptopunks, 10 Meebits, and 2 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. He also gifted an NFT to his wife Serena, a Cryptopunk NFT, which somewhat resembles her. The most expensive NFT in his collection is Cryptopunk #8115

He also holds 13 NFT sneakers and 4 Daypacks, which he minted from the 10KFT collection. This collection allows people to mint custom sneakers NFTs featuring their own NFT but is limited to more famous collections.

Mark Cuban

Owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA, Mark Cuban is one of the richest men in the world. His NFT portfolio is filled with around 6,000 NFTs as he is a firm believer in NFTs and the future they hold.

The most famous and expensive NFT in his collection is the Bored Apes Yacht Club NFT. He holds Bored Ape #1597. He is also the owner of Mutant Ape #13957 which is another collection from the Bored Apes Yacht Club. Another notable NFT in his collection is FEWO Crypto Brick which costs around $150,000. But most of his collection is taken up by 866 NFTs from Rarible which is an NFT marketplace and platform for creating NFTs.

Jimmy Fallon

The host of the “Tonight Show”, Jimmy Fallon, is one of the most famous TV personalities in the world. He has been open about his interest in NFTs and even had Beeple, the man who sold numerous of his NFTs for millions, on his show. When one of the best-selling NFT artists appeared on the show everyone got interested as to which NFTs Jimmy Fallon possesses.

On one of his shows, Fallon showed the audience his NFT from the Bored Apes Yacht Club collection. He owns Bored Ape #599 for which he paid 46.6 ETH. He also owns many other NFTs, the most notable of them being the Trump McNifty NFT which is an NFT depicting Donald Trump.

Finishing off our list is Steph Curry, 4 times NBA Champion and holder of many NBA records. Steph is a big fan of NFTs as he owns some of the most expensive pieces and even has his own NFT collections.

Steph is a big fan of Bored Apes Yacht Club. He owns Bored Ape #7990, Mutant Ape #25981, and Bored Ape Kennel Club NFT #9538. He purchased Bored Ape #7990 and Kennel #9538 for a total of around $220,000 while Mutant Ape was minted by him.

He also has his own NFT collections. When he broke the NBA 3-point record, he launched the 2974 Collection which commemorates this achievement and all proceeds from this collection went to charity. Alongside this collection, he also launched the Genesis Curry Flow NFT collection which gives owners access to many different metaverses such as Decentraland and Sandbox.
