M-PESA is a mobile payment system that allows users in Kenya and Tanzania to send and receive money, pay bills, and purchase goods and services comfortably, straight from their mobile phones. The payment system was established in 2007 by a company named Safaricom. The company is a leading mobile operator in Kenya. Today M-PESA is one of the most popular mobile payment methods in Africa. 

M-PESA operates through a network of agents who facilitate transactions among its users. The platform has revolutionized the way people in Kenya and Tanzania conduct business and make financial transactions, especially in areas with limited access to traditional banking services. The payment system has contributed to the growth in mobile banking, mobile insurance, and mobile loans in Kenya and Tanzania. 

Funding options can vary depending on where you are opening the live account from. As a Kenyan trader, you can fund your Pepperstone trading account using M-PESA, and do so by simply following these instructions:

• Open a Pepperstone live trading account: Go to the broker’s main page and press “Join now” in blue. Register and follow the instructions for registration. You will need to provide your personal information and verify your identity.

• Verify your account: In order to comply with regulatory requirements, Pepperstone will ask you to verify your account by uploading a clear picture of your identification documents such as proof of your identity and proof of your residence. For proof of your identity, you can use a digital photo or scanned version of your ID card, passport, or driving license. As for the proof of residence, you can use a bank statement or a utility bill. Being verified will give you full control of your account and you will be able to deposit and withdraw funds freely.
• Navigate to the deposit page: Once you receive an email that your account has been verified, log in to your account and navigate to the deposit page.
• Choose M-PESA as your payment method: On the deposit page, select M-PESA as your payment method.
• Enter the amount you want to deposit: Enter the amount of money you wish to deposit into your trading account.

• Finally, once the funds have been transferred, you can start trading.

It’s important to note that there are no trading fees from the broker’s end when using this method. However, the M-PESA funding method may have some fees from your mobile service provider’s side.
